What to Expect in 2016

Over the past few days, the “prophets” are at it again, prophesying great things for 2016.  They have completely ignored the failure of their prophecies for last year.  There was a substantial degradation of Christianity and significant advancement of evil in society in 2015.  The “blood moons” prophecies were a flop.  In the degradation department, Hillsong Church’s (London) Christmas program won top ranking for blasphemy, especially their rendition of Silent Night.

Therefore, it is essential to ignore the prophets that are prophesying peace, miracles, prosperity, and a great end-time revival for 2016.  They are lying prophets who have no connection to God.  If they were true prophets, they would be warning the people.  To counter their pompous prophecies, I am compelled by the Holy Spirit to write about what to expect in 2016. A Christmas Poem

A Christmas Poem
C. H. Fisher

Memories of my childhood, Christmas was near.
I wondered about Santa and his magic deer.
I wondered if he really knew all about me,
And why were there presents under the tree
Many years had passed before I realized,
That there was no magic Santa, no magic sleigh in the sky,
No chimney large enough that he could come down,
And no plausible way that he could visit every town.
On one summer eve the truth finally came.
There was only one man, Jesus is His name,
That could offer the blessings of peace and good will,
And a solution to all the world’s ills.
He gave me a gift more priceless than all
The gifts that a mythical Santa could haul.
He gave me salvation and freedom from sin.
No longer a slave, I now live for Him.
So when Christmas comes with its glitz and glamour,
With shopping flurry, music, and clamor,
Shopping carts racing down aisles full of toys,
Music, and shouting, and honking, and noise.
I focus on what really matters each day,
That Christ is the life, the truth, and the way.
And if it is about His birthday celebration.
What could we give that would bring jubilation,
To heaven and angels, cherubs, and the Father,
Is there anything on earth we could possibly offer?
Yes, there is a gift that we can give Him.
We can offer our lives and turn away from sin.
We can love, care, give, and be kind,
Every day, not just at Christmas time.
If His birthday is truly the reason for this commotion,
Let’s ignore the magic Santa and give Jesus our devotion.

It Really is All About Love

During this Christmas Season, while going through various stores with my wife shopping for the kids and grandies, I’ve noticed a number of people that seem to be discouraged.  My spirit senses troubled spirits in people.  A kind word, a smile and cordial greeting, or another act of kindness, seems to instantly brighten their countenances.  I feel joy rising from the fountain when the little children smile.  I love joy—I’m addicted to it.

When you show an act of kindness, you’re making a payment.  “But Christ Jesus paid my sin debt,” might be the response.  Oh yes He did!  And we cannot buy our way into God’s grace.  However, His word tells us to “owe no one anything but love.”  It is a debt that we will never stop paying on.  More than a debt, it is a privilege.  The privilege is our RSVP to God’s invitation to come to His house for supper.  Every time the love of Christ flows out of us, we are saying to God, “Yes, I’ll be there.”  Continue reading
