(From now to the end, truth is not likely to make people happy who have been sleeping and slumbering in apathy. The truth necessary to prepare and equip them for the end of the age will not be palatable. They will turn to hobbies, entertainment, books, movies, social media, music, TV, beloved heretics, hirelings, and other charlatans, but coldly reject everyone who makes them uncomfortable with truth. Truth is a drudgery for them to read or hear. A slight brush with reality makes them slide deeper under the apathy blanket. The day when truth blasts into their comfortable lives with brilliant and unavoidable reality, some of them will suffer heart failure. The ones who survive the initial shock will plunge into an inner cauldron of fear and great stress. They will wish with all their souls they had listened and prepared. But it will be too late.)

The Believers are questioning if the lying signs and wonders Paul prophesied have arrived. We are currently witnessing lying signs and wonders in some parts of the world, especially in America. I do not believe those are the lying signs and wonders Paul prophesied about in 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10. For one thing, they are not originating from one individual. It does not meet other criteria to declare them the fulfillment of Paul’s prophesy. I consider the current lying signs precursors and indicative of how eager many professing Christians are to receive deception. The lying signs and wonders in Paul’s prophesy will arrive with the coming of the “man of sin,” aka, the “lawless one.” It will be ubiquitous and the direct work of Satan. For the current display of lying signs and wonders to fulfill the prophecy, they would need to happen all over the world and be directed by the “lawless one.” The “lawless one” will have tremendous and worldwide power and influence when that occurs.

Few prophecy teachers agree with the Apostle Paul’s eschatology. The secret none of them wish to be made public is, there is no such thing in God’s Word as a “prophecy teacher.” God’s people do not need someone telling them how to understand what is clearly in God’s Word. Modern “prophecy teachers” make it all confusing because it is confusing to them. It is thus confusing because the Holy Spirit is not in them. He is neither leading nor teaching them. They cleverly reduced everyone down to their level of unknowing. Then they offer pathetic solutions as the only way anyone can know about eschatology. Here is why they are wrong.

“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

“But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.” — 1 John 2:20-21; 27

Christ declared that after he departed, he would send us the Spirit of truth.

“… the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” — John 14:17

“But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.” — John 15:26

“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”

So, why do we need “prophecy teachers?” What most of the so-called “prophecy teachers” are teaching people is based on Darbyism, not God’s clear truth. The very nature of their title is wrong. Prophecy does not have to be taught. God sent it for us to read and believe. If God’s Word and the Holy Spirit cannot teach us eschatology, how do we know to do anything he commands us to do. How can we mature and understand basic theology without the Helper’s help? It is a mark of shallowness when we are in such a condition.

“For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” — Hebrews 5:12-14

Please consider that eschatology (doctrine of last things) is so important God devoted to it an entire book in the Bible, Revelation. One estimate is that over 25 percent of the Bible is prophetic.[1] God gave us Revelation, an abundance of eschatology dedicated to our need for knowledge. Why would he stuff an office called “prophecy teachers” between us and that knowledge? It is deceptive to believe those individuals, each having their own opinions, each one believing they discovered something no one else has found, and all the while making small fortunes selling it to us.

It is telling when you challenge someone to present scriptures that support their errant eschatology, and they quote Grant Jeffries, Hal Lindsey, Tom LaHaye, John Nelson Darby, or some other prophesy inventor or teacher. I say it is time to wake up, brush aside these self-appointed seers, and walk the course of knowledge that God clearly opened up for us in His word. Paul clearly describes the “man of sin” as the “lawless one.” Only two lawless ones have the potential to deceive the world with lying signs and wonders. They are the two beasts in Revelation 13. One of them is secular and the other one is religious, both of them are antichrists, and both of them martyr the saints. I would not expect the secular one to work lying signs and wonders. Besides, the first beast gains his power over people by violence. However, my opining is not significant. Consider that John wrote, according to the vision, about the second beast, the false prophet. He performs lying signs and wonders and deceives the entire world.

“He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived.” –– Revelation 13:13-14

So, yes, we are witnessing lying signs and wonders, but not yet to the degree that Paul and John described. When that occurs, the people currently deceived by lying signs and wonders will marvel and rejoice. They will believe God sent them an amazing man, as current heretics and false prophets will declare. The false prophets are currently prophesying about a great end-times revival that the Scriptures do not project. A false office of “prophesy teacher” set up that deception. Insisting people need and should believe them over what the Bible declares was the payload. Instead, of God sending them a great end-times revival, he will send them a strong delusion so they believe “the lie and be damned.” Why? Because they refused to receive love for truth.

Rejecting love for truth is one prophecy we are witnessing the fulfillment of at the present. People had better be prepared to face an extremely dark period of powerful deception. I believe it is already here and many people are snuggling deeper under their apathy blankets. It is like stepping outside without a coat in a blizzard to wake up and listen to the Holy Spirit today. When the “man of sin” arrives, Satan’s minions will warn them about suffering if they do not agree with and join deceived professing Christians. God’s Word warns about eternal suffering if they join them. How will they escape deception and compromise when they currently refuse to shake off their apathy and complacency and consult God in prayer? How will they choose differently when it becomes a perilous decision to reject truth for apathy? None of them will come out from under their apathy blankets. They will find it easier, comforting, and less complicated to commit that error.

What other course is there but the narrow one? God’s Word paves it with truth. It is uplifting, but also frightening. One cannot accept the former and deny the latter without losing it all to deception. Those who sleep will have stopped reading long before that exhortation if they read anything at all. They defiantly believe that wrong is right for the sole reason false teachers taught them to do so. They may never hear the midnight cry. If they hear it, they will not have enough oil to make it into the bridal chamber. God will shut the door eternally.

“The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” — 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12
