Halloween Halloween

    Yup.
Like so many things, l remember how it was over 25 years ago. Leaders in the church at large used to warn about these things, there was exhortation to keep yourself holy, separate, godly, and away from sin. Pastors and other types would warn against Halloween, other pagan things, superstition, the occult, yoga, secular music and movies and so on. People guarded themselves to avoid these things. I even recall one time at a ladies’ fellowship meeting, the pastor paid a visit to admonish one woman against her ‘lucky’ charm of a rabbit’s foot (which is occultic and wiccan) and she heeded the warning. It was a smaller church, about 75 or less. He did his job. That was what you did as a pastor. But can anyone imagine that sort of thing happening today? I sure can’t!

I have seen church after church advertising for some form of halloween celebration, they may call it by another name but it is still the same. We don’t need a substitute for something that we don’t celebrate because it’s of satanic origin! They are just training their kids to do that very thing. Recently I found yet another church doing this same thing and was very grieved to see it was truly one which should know better. It seems even those remnant churches that barely dot the landscape are in jeopardy now, tempted to cave into the seeker friendly pit.
We really need to pray that the remnant stays strong and does not cave into this evil agenda and we know where it leads. And pray against all evil activity this halloween. There is another good blog about halloween on Gregory Reid’s website (Youthfire Ministries) if you search it out. I think he sums it up well.
Thanks for the warning once again!

I know many close to me that still celebrate Halloween. They are Christians. They decorate with all the horrid stuff on thier yard and such. They always ask what we will be dressing up as. I use that as an opportunity to tell them why we do not dress up or celebrate it at all. Thankfully our church has nothing to do with it. We don’t do an alternative either. I think the apathy of the Christians is not helpful when it comes to Halloween.
