Cedric Fisher: "earnestly contending for the faith."

Just some midnight rambling commentary from an old warrior.

After I’ve defeated giant number 3000, isn’t it about time to quit worrying about whether I’m going to win the next battle?  What I mean is, if I am still standing today, it has been in spite of innumerable battles that I have won.  Even the ones that I thought I lost, I still won because of two things—they didn’t take me out and I learned valuable lessons.  I’m beginning to see why God became so displeased with Israel in the desert.  He sent them mighty miracles, and they traded praising Him for the sport of complaining.  No doubt it wasn’t easy for them.  Life in the temporal realm can be very harsh at times.  I’ve had my share of sorrows and I cannot say that my present status is one to be desired.  Maybe I’m beginning to mellow in my old age, but I’m getting to the point that I have stopped worrying over most problems.  All real problems are worrisome to someone.  It depends on the person concerning how worrisome it is or may become.  Focusing on God and His faithfulness to me in the past reduces my worrying about the problem.  Besides, large problems are opportunities for miracles and miracles are like adrenalin to my faith.  I was thinking about David’s large problem, Goliath.  What if David had had to fight a small enemy?  It’s one thing to hit a giant with a slingshot and quit another to hit a wasp with the same weapon.  David pointed to past successes and could have remarked to himself, “Look at the size of that target!”  I’ve decided to launch my faith at those large problems.  How could I miss?

I am not familiar with the name. Did you try doing a search on Google? You could also search one of the discernment sites such as Lighthouse Trails Research.

The Bible says one can be known by their fruit. May I suggest researching the Emergent church and those who embrace it as well as promote/participate with them? Read her blogs. They provide insight as to her walk. Many unknowingly are steeped in the teachings and sadly, unaware of the false teachings and most importantly, the dangers of it. May God guide and direct us in proper discernment!
