One heretic and false prophet prophesied that there would be a great civil war in Christianity between what he calls the “blues and the grays”.  I do not consider it a prophecy, but a diabolical threat.  The so-called “blues” (his side) stand to gain a great deal from such a war.  They are the heretical faction in Christianity that has embraced cult, occult and pagan beliefs and practices.  The “grays” are the Christians that oppose this invasion of unbiblical heresy.  Although this conflict has been occurring since the Gnostics of the first century, this false prophet predicted an escalation that will result in the deaths of the “grays”.

That aside, I believe that contention is certain to occur between Christians that are united against individuals such false prophets, New Age paganism and other extreme heresies, and yet are divided by key doctrines in their particular denominations.

Historically, except for an occasional flare-up, people of various denominations agree to disagree without being hostile.  Adherents work side by side in factories, business, and etcetera, without animosity.  Only when doctrine is discussed will the atmosphere between them become charged with controversy.  I believe that is also about to change for several reasons.

First, it is a well used method of Satan to divide and conquer.  He loves to break up families, marriages, relationships between friends, and to start wars in churches.  All he needs is an individual that is willing to attack a fellow Christian.  Just as in conflicts involving two people, it just takes one person to start a war between two denominations.  One influential individual can write a book, give a speech, or simply instigate the conflict with a personal attack, and thousands (possibly millions) of adherents will join in the resulting conflict without hesitation.

Second, it is reasonable to believe that as weak and divided as Christianity is today, and infiltrated by heretics and pagans, it is primed and ready for a full-scale inner conflict.  Satan is not one to let such an opportunity pass, especially if we are in the last days.

Another factor to consider is that multitudes have left institutional churches.  Many of them have moved into other religions, or are being courted by the Emergent Church.  Another faction has simply quit attending church meetings altogether.  However, there is a significant number who refuses to be identified with any denomination or movement.  Some of them are in smaller autonomous churches that may or may not be affiliated with a denomination or movement.  Other ones meet in house churches or in family gatherings.  These Christians have not lost their faith, but have separated in order to preserve and grow it.  A significant number of them are on the Internet involved in forums, blogs, and web sites.  They are exposing heresies and the other elements of the present great deception and apostasy.

It is difficult to determine the number of these individual Christians.  They are not organized and have little or no personal contact with each other.  It is very probable that they are doing greater and more effective work than the recognized leaders in Christianity.  It is certain that they are more active and effective than the multitudes that merely attend church meetings.  Professing Christians that are spiritually deaf, mute, distracted, and fruitless, are of no bother to Satan.  They do not hinder his grandiose plan to control the world.  However, these “scattered” ones are of grave concern to the wicked prince of darkness.  They must be attacked, marginalized, and even eliminated, if he is going to capture the hearts of the rest.  Satan is well aware of the fact that often God used one person to start a great revival.  He is not going to allow that to happen if he can prevent it.  We can expect a full scale attack as contention and strife isolates and marginalizes these effective ministries.

I have witnessed a number of these types of conflicts.  One individual gets offended and begins a conflict by attacking his or her offender with information that has nothing to do with the original issue.  My how Satan loves to get behind the wheel of those sleek, powerful, agile, and extremely large, egos!  Most of those racy machines are armed with automatic ad hominem that can blast an offender into marginal zone.

I fully believe that if I posted my entire belief system on my web site, blog, or FB page, I would come under attack from some of the individuals who presently agree with me.  In fact, I believe it is the reason few individuals post their entire belief system.  They only post the essentials and are very generic about it. Almost all Christians agree on the essentials.  It is when an individual makes and issue out of a non-essential point of doctrine that the adherents gather around him or her for the battle.  It drives away people that know nothing about the issue.  They only recognize a battle ongoing and want no part of it.

It is certain that we are living in a dark and diabolical period.  It is essential that true Christians remain focused on exposing the darkness rather than engaging in personal battles over trivial or non-essential doctrine.  If we are attacked, we must not defend ourselves with like retribution.  God’s word is clear when it comes to giving an opportunity to our enemy.  One old minister once said, “No man can be at the foot of the cross and at the throat of his brother.”

Therefore, putting away lying, Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.  “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. (Ephesians 4:25-27, NKJV)
