So, Dr. Michael Brown writes in a source of spiritual contamination, Charisma Magazine, that its time to make some changes in how Charismania’s leadership handles sexual scandals.  In such a Movement with completely unaccountable leadership, it will be decades before they even get some rules that they all agree to. How much longer will it take before they have a committee that can deal with each issue? Would not a famed one simply says, “God’s handling it—back off”?

Additionally, I must ask the question, “Why now?” I mean, now that Christianity is in full-blown apostasy due in great part to the Charismatic Movement (and Charisma Magazine), isn’t it a bit late to begin installing safety measures? And who among Dr. Brown and his ilk are qualified to head up this “noble” project since they are all guilty of bringing it to this point?

The fact is that if it were not for the “tolerance” and “never-speak-anything-negative” and “anything is accepted” policies that continue to be enforced to this day, the Movement would have dissolved long ago and its many wolves would have faded into the darkness from whence they came.

So to come out now as an icon of integrity denouncing the lack of oversight, and chiding God’s people concerning their outrage, is supercilious and arrogant. Furthermore, Dr. Brown tries to wash himself of guilt in the matter e.g., “I have not supported him being in ministry since his divorce and remarriage in 2008, and “I am on public record to that effect, I have no connection of any kind to Todd and his ministry. I also disagreed publicly with the way other leaders handled things…” (Honestly! I mean it!)  Continue reading

Many genuine Believers are frustrated. I read a long statement yesterday by a friend that stirred my heart deeply because I can truly empathize. After much time and effort trying to convince deceived people that they have fallen into a snare of heresy, my friend is ready to give up, completely avoid social media, and any other contact with deceived professing Christians.

Oh, how many of God’s Remnant can relate! Even if one’s experience is only with people in their community, church fellowship, or family, it remains very stressful and demanding to communicate truth to the ones mired in heresy. I have had that experience often. It always leaves me drained emotionally and physically.

Once as an evangelist I was in a pastor’s house with my family in bed asleep. His wife mentioned admiring Kenneth Hagin, the teacher who plagiarized E. W. Kenyon and introduced the WOF doctrine into Christianity. I responded with the truth that he was a heretic and his doctrine was causing very serious problems in Christianity. She instantly responded with anger that escalated to hysterical rage. I was trapped in her kitchen until after midnight explaining to her why Hagin’s doctrine was heresy and ensuring her loud and shrill ad hominem. She completely rejected everything that I said. (That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not hear the law of the Lord;

who say to the seers, “Do not see,” and to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us right things;

Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits. Get out of the way, turn aside from the path,

cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.” – Isaiah 30:9-11)

Apparently, numerous professing Christians have not understood that commitment to Christianity is not necessarily the same as being committed to God. The question is not if one is a Christian—which now includes everyone from Sodom to Hollywood—but is he or she dead to sin, and has he or she destroyed and discarded its throne? Is he or she walking in newness of life, having crucified the flesh, and having become a servant of righteousness?

Sadly. few people can answer “yes” to those questions. Of the ones that answer “yes,” there are many that agree with the terms, (e.g., “crucified the flesh”) but those terms no longer identify what God’s word describes.

For example, “crucifying the flesh” may mean that they actually accept a reinterpretation of God’s word that agrees with succumbing to their fleshly desire. They reject the “no’s” of the Scriptures as negative misinterpretations by old, pharisaical, and legalistic Christianity—which they also reject. Consequently, there is no generational continuity of Christianity. “Restored true Christianity” begins with their generation and is considered their tailor-made view of God that continues to morph.
