Overwhelmed yet?\u00a0 If you are paying attention to what is going on in religion, politics, and culture in general, you may feel a bit (or a lot) overwhelmed.\u00a0 Whelm is a medieval English sailor’s word for capsized.\u00a0 Over time it became the term for drowning or being covered by water.<\/p>\n
Today, overwhelmed has come to mean deeply buried in a dire circumstance, or completely taken over by emotion.\u00a0 At the present I am not overwhelmed.\u00a0 Further, I refuse to be overwhelmed by the constant information regarding the diabolical activity occurring in this temporal realm.\u00a0 In fact, I reject the spirit of darkness that wishes me to be overwhelmed by the monumental satanic activity in our world today.\u00a0 I refuse to join the cacophony of complaining voices from individuals that are overwhelmed in the world system.\u00a0 For that reason, I don\u2019t listen to talk radio and I am selective about what and how much news that I watch on TV.<\/p>\n
I confess that at times I have felt overwhelmed.\u00a0 However, I reached the point to where I realized that we cannot alter or dismiss prophetic fulfillment.\u00a0 We can\u2019t even stop the natural storms.\u00a0 So how do we believe that we can stop the massive diabolical spiritual storm bearing down on this world and our nation?\u00a0 Our only hope is to be prepared for its arrival.\u00a0 Essential to that preparation is to have freedom from oppression emanating from the threat of satanic attack on our freedom, quality of living, and even our existence.\u00a0 Therefore, as a child of God, filled with the Holy Spirit, knowledgeable about God’s word, I intend to overcome, not be overwhelmed.<\/p>\n
Our journey in this world involves participation in the war between darkness and light.\u00a0 God’s word does not inform us that it will be easy.\u00a0 There is no victory without a battle.\u00a0 Our attitude in the battle must be governed by our faith, not the size or ferocity of our opponent.\u00a0 Therefore, we should not submit to forces or circumstances that make us feel overwhelmed.\u00a0 Instead, we should remember that God is omnipotent and His Spirit in us is greater than the spirit of darkness.\u00a0 We should remember that we are equipped to overcome evil, even if our only response to its aggression is the word of our testimony (Revelation 12:11).<\/p>\n
The feeling of being overwhelmed is a signal that we need to get busy praying, focusing on God, and feeding ourselves with His truth.\u00a0 We cannot afford to be weak in this harsh period.\u00a0 There are too many forces that stand ready to brutally attack vulnerable Christians.\u00a0 Satan is not a roaring lion, but the Apostle Peter wrote that he goes about as one, seeking someone that he believes he can devour (1 Peter 5:8).\u00a0 The quickest way to attract diabolical entities is to plead weakness in the battle.<\/p>\n
We should not believe that being strong is being presumptuous.\u00a0 In my opinion, some of God’s people are hesitant to fully avail themselves of His power and equipping and make a strong stand.\u00a0 They are wary of being associated with the heretical WOF crowd and other deceived ones.\u00a0 It does not matter if heresy comes right up to the line of truth, we should not back away one inch.\u00a0 We need everything God has promised us to be an overcomer.\u00a0 Please read Revelation chapters 1 through 3.\u00a0 Consider how many times overcome is mentioned.<\/p>\n
I encourage every true believer to put on the whole armour of God with the sword of the Spirit and stand.\u00a0 Light trumps darkness.\u00a0 What’s the use of singing “Victory in Jesus” if we are not willing to fight the good fight of faith?\u00a0 We must prepare our minds and spirits for the battle.\u00a0 At some point, God will raise a standard against the evil storm.\u00a0 Raising a standard is a military term that means to raise the flag of an army.\u00a0 When God raises the flag of His army against Satan’s flood\u00a0 wickedness, we will witness the utter destruction of evil from the earth.\u00a0 Our Commander has never lost and never will.\u00a0 We cannot lose if we follow Him.\u00a0 We cannot perfectly follow Him with a defeated spirit. \u00a0After all, how can an overcomer be overwhelmed?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
