The current Palestinian attack on Israel exposes years of falsehoods accusing Israel of lion\u2019s share contribution to the Mideast crisis. Influential Christians repeating those falsehoods are sowing antisemitism in America\u2019s younger generations. The same generations are taught antisemitism in seminaries and universities. I regard those teachers and professors as falling from the same mold that gave us higher criticism and other liberal theology. Anti-Semites claim the Palestinians are not the aggressors. They further claim Palestinians are genuine Christians persecuted by Israel. The current invasion and attacks completely exposed that as false.<\/p>\n
Antisemitism was the major concern when they brought up Resolution 3 for vote in the 68-million-member Assemblies of God\u2019s 57th General Council in Anaheim, California. It was an attempt by Palestinian sympathizers to plant backdoor antisemitism in the largest Pentecostal denomination in the world. The Assemblies of God did well to reject Resolution 3. However, it did little to slow the acceptance of antisemitism in younger generations. A recent survey revealed that antisemitism is widespread in America.[1]<\/a><\/sup> Contemporary Christian\u2019s are becoming increasingly antisemitic.[2]<\/a><\/sup> [3]<\/a><\/sup> Other reports clearly reveal the sudden rise of antisemitism in America. It is not a minor issue to brush aside without serious consequences for Israel.<\/p>\n Books, such as \u201cChrist at the Checkpoint\u201d (CATC), supposedly about peacemaking, are planting lies and antisemitism in younger American generations. The accusations claim Israel\u2019s checkpoints, the nation\u2019s primary means to prevent infiltration of terrorists, is a major reason for the conflict. Imagine how much worse the carnage from the recent attack would have been had there been no checkpoints. It is not helpful to establishing peace when the entire burden to produce peace rests solely on Israel. The true agenda of CATC is to denude Israel of their right to be viewed as God\u2019s chosen people. Incensed by that claim, the enemies of Israel reveal themselves as peace-breakers. Their stated goal to eradicate the Jewish nation.<\/p>\n Several people have written articles and offered Social Media videos about what they believe the recent attack on Israel means prophetically. As always, the cry is to get ready because Christ is returning soon. I agree people should prepare but not because Hamas attacked Israel. There is no difference in prepared to faithful obey God and prepared for the judgments coming on this world. People inspired by fear driven motivation to be prepared are likely to revert to apathy when the threat is gone.<\/p>\n Concerning the recent attack, other professing Christians remarked, \u201cWhy does it matter? They have been fighting for years?\u201d<\/p>\n It matters because other factors are involved. Along with the great apostasy of Christianity, the current state of chaos in politics, societal rejection of long-time ethical standards, and ominous portend of cashless economy and its worldwide implications, it is beyond time to consider what we are witnessing. Here is what we should know. The attack on Israel is not a sign the coming of the Lord Jesus is imminent. Christ will not return because Hamas invaded Israel. He is coming at the end of the tribulation period. However, He is\u00a0\u201ccoming\u00a0at an hour you do not expect.\u201d[4]<\/a><\/sup> \u201cWhen you least expect\u201d does not mean there will not be signs. God’s servants recorded those signs in the Bible so we would know. Instead, it\u2019s an indictment of people that should know the signs, that are warned, can read his word, yet are woefully unprepared. As a result, His coming will catch them completely off guard.<\/p>\n Luke 21:34 (NKJV)<\/p>\n \u201cBut take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.<\/p>\n Christ declared the time frame of His coming when teaching His disciples, as recorded by Matthew.<\/p>\n “Immediately after the distress of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth\u00a0will mourn\u00a0when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven,\u00a0with power and great glory.\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>And he will send his angels\u00a0with a loud trumpet call,\u00a0and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.\u201d[5]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n The attack on Israel is not a portend of the Second Coming. However, we might be witnessing the final precursors before the tribulation. Emboldened by Iran\u2019s support, and the collapsing Christian support for Israel, Israel\u2019s enemies are licking their chops.<\/p>\n Without equivocation, the majority in this nation are woefully unprepared for what is on its way. There needs to be another Great Awakening to expose the depth of their compromise and bring the back to the reality of God. There is no hint in God\u2019s Word that a great, end-times, revival will occur. Instead, there will be powerful deception and a significant departure from the faith. And who is awake? How many professing are concerned enough to get right and be ready? Christianity is now marketed like a Yoga. People grab their mats and head to a trendy Yoga studio. They come out hot and sweaty, but their souls are deeper in darkness.
