I meet many people who are clueless about the great apostasy. That is equivalent to being unaware of a deadly pandemic that daily takes the lives of thousands. However, as one individual said as he brushed away my attempts to warn him, \u201cAll I know is I\u2019m saved. I don\u2019t worry about anything else.\u201d<\/p>\n
Okay, but would he allow his friends and family to venture into an area where a pandemic was the most intense without warning them? Probably not. Why do professing Christians refuse to warn people about a very infectious and deadly apostasy? By all indications, they believe that it is not a valid concern. I understand that such individuals do not wish to dwell on the negative and appear as a doomsayer. They want to be positive, upbeat and do what is necessary to avoid rejection. However, Closing their eyes, ears, and minds to its strength and aggression is foolish.<\/p>\n
The responsibility to inform and warn people has been relegated to a few websites, blogs, and Social Media pages. Some popular Christian periodicals occasionally mention the evil deeds of a famed apostate, but stop well short of declaring those deeds sinful or the individual as an apostate. They conduct conferences, write books, produce television programs, and otherwise entice people to be religious, which is no more effective against rapidly spreading apostasy than voting every two years to prevent decay of morality and common sense integrity in our society.<\/p>\n
The general belief is that Christianity is simply going through a bad period, or worse, that it is simply the woes of transition\u2014the change of control from the old generation to the new. There is some merit in that conclusion, but there is more to it than a classic power struggle. God\u2019s word declares that there is a generation that is unrighteousness and unqualified to be in control.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.\u201d – Proverbs 30:12<\/p>\n
The Apostle Paul describes such a generation as the apostate generation. He indicates that they rejected God-ordained authority as young people.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.\u201d – 2 Timothy 3:1-5<\/p>\n
It is a description of the generation(s) in control or coming into control of a large portion of Christianity. Many older professing Christians that have remained in leadership are capitulating to their philosophy, heresy, and moral degradation, to remain relevant. That leads to a shaky compromise where the leadership that knows better waffles and wiggles out of the responsibility of exposing error and presenting the truth. They are fearful of losing their positions, of being forced to retire with less than full benefits, and being reduced to a pew warmer.\u00a0 An example is when I mentioned the apostasy to an elderly pastor friend, he replied, \u201cI try to stay out of that conflict\u2014I\u2019m just trying to make it to retirement.\u201d<\/p>\n
He is doing as most of his peers, attempting to avoid being replaced by a younger man (or woman). In the process, he is teaching his congregation that ignorance and apathy is the proper reaction. Truthfully, staying relevant with the apostasy is full, unconditional surrender, and defeat.<\/p>\n
Of course, if people believe that there is no great danger, that the younger generation is merely bringing their methods and the older generations are reluctant to yield to change, why should they be concerned. As Steven Furtick said in his infamous \u201cHey Haters\u201d diatribe against the older generations, it is time for them to butt out. He arrogantly declares something to the effect, \u201cWe\u2019ve got it now, we\u2019re in control\u201d<\/p>\n
His video presents a visual of Paul\u2019s prophetic warning in 2 Timothy 3 about the last day\u2019s generation. It is markedly different than a mere changing of the guard. The generation rapidly coming into power have divorced Christianity from historical continuity. They have rejected or are rejecting everything that the present generations believed even to the extent of reinterpreting the Scriptures. Some of them are distorting biblical truth to the extent they believe that Christ Jesus sinner, which denies that He is the \u201cSpotless Lamb of God.\u201d One young false prophet declared that Christ Jesus apologized to him and asked his forgiveness.<\/p>\n
The fact is that the older generations are responsible for the aberrant generations Christianity. The younger generations were bored with the older generation\u2019s meetings. Most churches had been reduced to form void of vial substance from the Holy Spirit. So they gave them their own young and inexperienced pastors and even built them their buildings filled with games and music of the world system, and lowered or changed the standards of true Christianity. Is it any wonder that they would choose that model instead of the old dead and dry model that the older generations agree was insufficient and unhelpful for them?<\/p>\n
So the apostasy was not birthed by the generations that are coming into control. They cannot be apostate since they cannot depart from what they have never been. They never had a genuine experience with God and thus have no spiritual birthdays. The older generations never imparted their knowledge to them by example and priority because they had become lukewarm and spiritually lifeless. They sent them off to discover a form of Christianity that they were comfortable with. Consequently, age-segregation produced millions of biological Christians via the \u201cyouth ministry\u201d paradigm that led them to the entrance of a new direction. That direction is New Christianity, which is the logical progression of the apostasy of the older generations. The fact is the younger generations do not recognize it as the progression of the older generation\u2019s apostasy. They view it as a God-ordained way that they must blaze for the generations to follow.<\/p>\n
They should be warned by God\u2019s Remnant in the hope that some of them will turn away from the deception before God shuts the door. In my opinion, there is not much time left. When the great darkness falls it will not be identified as darkness but as the long-sought-for solution to division and violence. The concept of wickedness will be changed by acceptance and decriminalization. The world system and Christianity will be inundated with a swarm of vile individuals. The diabolical party will begin, but the Second Coming of Christ will bring it to a swift end.<\/p>\n
There is no middle ground in the war against God and righteousness. Either we present ourselves as completely opposed to the apostasy or we are compromising to avoid discomfort and rejection. I think that we have reached, or maybe passed, the point where professing Christians must identify themselves as opposed to the apostasy. If not, they will eventually be identified as apostates. What a tragedy it would be to stumble at this point so close to receiving \u201cthe end of our faith, the salvation of our souls.\u201d (1 Peter 1:9)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
