It\u2019s is a beautiful day! The coolest day of Fall so far. I open the door to greet the morning. All is still and quiet.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow do you do, morning? You were made by the Lord!\u201d<\/p>\n
Our little domicile sits on the side of a small hill. The sun is shining over the eastern treetops and our roof, landing soft and gently on on the western stand of tall pines and oaks. Even the birds appeared to be in awe of the transcendent aura. They dance about in the trees stopping only to chirp excitedly. I had forgotten how organic and sweet their music is. Their excitement is contagious as songs burst forth from their divinely painted throats. If any creature knows the joy of the morning it is the birds.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m glad that no one drove down our street to shatter the sublimity of that splendid moment.<\/p>\n
God\u2019s new mercy brings hope for the day in the serenity of such mornings. It made me think of heaven. How about being in a place of perfect rest and peace? Can you imagine that? Sink your mind into the folds of such a thought and for a blessed interlude you can spiritually taste the bliss.<\/p>\n
Why do people not believe in such a place as heaven? It is likely because they believe and trust so completely in the temporal realm. The only way to really grasp the concept of heaven is faith. But faith is a choice between the seen and unseen. It requires that we see the unseeable and grasp the ungraspable. I know\u2026that doesn\u2019t make sense.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s like this; if there is no peace in the tangle of life\u2019s demands and if there is no one higher than humanity to hope in, how can we have faith? Without God we have nothing to have faith in that will not fail us. There certainly cannot exist the blessed anticipation and perfect hope of heaven. It\u2019s the hopelessness of an earthly focus.<\/p>\n
However, people still try to have heaven in a heaven-less world. As one guy put it, \u201cGood beer, good friends, and a good woman\u2014that\u2019s as good as it gets. That\u2019s heaven.\u201d Nope, that\u2019s simply topping out on the bottom. True heaven is out of this world. We should not settle for a hopeless and false concept of \u201cheaven.\u201d<\/p>\n
Solomon wrote, \u201cHe has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put\u00a0eternity\u00a0in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.\u201d \u2013 Ecclesiastes 3:11<\/p>\n
The eternity in our hearts is our soul longing for eternity. When estranged from God we do not know that it is what our soul truly wants, thus we try to find fulfillment in the earthly realm. However, when our soul awakens to Christ and God we are awakened to eternity. That\u2019s when we understand and truly begin to hope for heaven.<\/p>\n
The worldly man can run out of beer and lose his woman and his friends, but the hope of heaven is unshakable in a Believer\u2019s soul. No demon of stress and strife can take that hope away from us.<\/p>\n
So when I wake up to a morning that reminds me of heaven it is like sunbeams poking a hole in the dark storm cloud of a trial. It reminds me that it is not always going to be like this. One day evil will be destroyed and Christ will reign in righteousness. The called, chosen, and faithful will enter the Celestial City, heaven, to dwell for eternity. That\u2019s worth living and dying for.<\/p>\n
\u201cCause me to hear Your lovingkindness in\u00a0the\u00a0morning,\u00a0For\u00a0in You do I trust; Cause me to know\u00a0the\u00a0way in which I should walk,\u00a0For\u00a0I lift up my soul to You.\u201d \u2013 Psalm 143:8<\/p>\n
