Well, the first debate is over. I watched video clips and read the reports, but confess I did not watch the full debate. I would have an easier time watching two ordained homosexual ministers debating the pros and cons of transgender restrooms.<\/p>\n
The consensus of the pundits is that Trump won by simply walking on the stage. He is legitimized in the public view as a viable presidential candidate. He also won in the fact that although Clinton has 30 years of political experience, she did not cause any significant damage to him. Further, Trump won because he did not make any serious mistakes. Finally, he won in in personal appearance. He was\u2014as he has been throughout his campaign\u2014what America expected to see. However, she appeared smug, cold, and calculating\u2014not pleasant. Her appearance adds fuel to the public perception that she is a cold-blooded, dirty politician that cannot be trusted. There was no CNN to doctor her appearance or edit her words.<\/p>\n
So what\u2019s the result of this exercise in \u201clesser\u201d evil debating \u201cgreater\u201d? I think it will be that \u201clesser\u201d appears more \u201clesser\u201d and \u201cgreater\u201d appears more \u201cgreater\u201d. I do not believe that Clinton will get a bump in the polls, but the opposite. There may be a slight bump for Trump, no poetry intended.<\/p>\n
As for the effect of the debate on my perception of what this election is about, I came away with a stronger feeling that America is in deep trouble and it\u2019s going to get deeper. How can anyone perceive those two\u00a0UN<\/strong><\/em>presidential individuals as being in a genuine presidential debate ? It was surreal. Someone remarked that it was like watching Saturday Night Live.<\/p>\n Therefore, the winner and loser are not actually among the debaters. There is more than one winner and loser. The real winners were George Soros, Barack Obama, and the progressive liberal army that has been systematically destroying America for the past several decades. They have engineered the destruction of dignity and integrity of the presidency. Beginning with Bill Clinton, and his soiled presidential persona and defiling of the office, through nearly 8 years of a scurrilous Obama administration, the standard of the highest office in the nation is at a historical low and bound to go lower.<\/p>\n The losers are the America people. There was no thrill of victory\u2014but the agony of defeat. But did we expect anything different? It reminds me of a statement by a school principle, when questioned about the unspeakably vile behavior of two students in front of the entire class. He blamed their parents for not having instilled moral principles in them. Then he reprehensibly said, \u201cDon\u2019t send us chicken s\u2014 and expect us to turn it into chicken salad.\u201d We can influence and change the minds of children, but can the leopard or hyena change its spots?<\/p>\n So I say to America, \u201cWhat did you expect to witness in this debate?\u201d Dignity? Integrity? Chicken salad? My expectations were low and they were met. Neither candidate can deliver us from the direction that America is heading. Society\u00a0is obviously not going up the scale in godliness. We do not have a choice between a gentleman and a lady. If anyone believes that is acceptable, they are beyond pity.<\/p>\n Because it has never accepted God, we cannot expect secular society to embrace and project godliness. The cause of this degradation is great apostasy in Christianity. The salt has lost its flavor, and the light is dim, and in some cases has even become darkness (Matthew 5:13-16). God will not heal this land, until He forgives our sin. He cannot do either, until there is wholesale repentance in the land.\u00a0\u00a0 I pray that God will have mercy on us and give professing Christians more time to repent and return to Him.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2026if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.\u201d \u2013 2 Chronicles 7:14<\/p>\n Well, the first debate is over.
