(Proverbs 30:11-14 NKJV) There is a generation that curses
its father, And does not bless its mother. {12} There is a generation
that is pure in its own eyes, Yet is not washed from its
filthiness. {13} There is a generation; oh, how lofty are their
eyes! And their eyelids are lifted up. {14} There is a generation whose
teeth are like swords, And whose fangs are like knives, To devour the
poor from off the earth, And the needy from among men.
Mr. Gene Robinson, a homosexual who was confirmed by the Episcopal
church as bishop, said that he doesn't believe his appointment will
matter much to the ordinary Christians around the world. I do not know
what Robinson means by the term "ordinary" unless he means
"uncommitted" or "less than spiritual." If that is
the case, I'm sure that such professing Christians will not be the
slightest bit concerned. However, I have yet to see Christian concern
outside of the Episcopal church. I've been on several websites of major
Christian organizations and there isn't the slightest mention of the
sordid affair. Maybe they are waiting to formulate an opinion or trying
to stay out of the situation. I believe that anytime Christianity is
compromised to the degree that a homosexual is appointed as a church
leader, all true believers must voice their concern.
I have to ask, "What's next?" Are we going to se a sado/masochist
bishop in the near future? Will there be a practicing pedophile
confirmed as bishop? What about a transvestite bishop, or a bishop who
is incestuous? Will we one day see an Episcopalian bishop who is
involved in bestiality? The Episcopalian church may as well go ahead and
appoint a confirmed Satanist as bishop. Someone would say, "You're
being factitious—none of those types of people would ever be confirmed
as a bishop." Really? Well, it has not been that long ago when we
would have thought it a bizarre idea that any church would appoint a
homosexual to a position of leadership.
I know that some people might ask, "What's the big deal? This is
a different time, so why be so narrow-minded?" Let me respond by
pointing out that everything in life is identified by its composition
and characteristics. If you change the composition of an orange, you do
not have an orange any longer. This is true of the tangelo, which is a
cross-pollination of the Mandarin orange and the pummelo. If you cross a
horse with a donkey, the result would be a mule. Once the composition
and characteristics of something are altered, the resulting alteration
must be considered to be something other than it was originally.
By nature, Christianity is the materialization of the nature of God
through humanity. God is holy and in Him there is no darkness. Neither
is there shadow of turning. In other words, when we go from light to
darkness in this world, (or vice versa) we pass through the
"shadows of turning." We go through increasing shades of grey
until we eventually enter the darkness. There is no such variableness in
God.
Here is His Word concerning homosexuality.
24 Then the LORD rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah,
from the LORD out of the heavens. 25 So He overthrew those cities, all
the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the
ground. Gen 19:24-26 NKJV
22 You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an
abomination. 23 Nor shall you mate with any animal, to defile yourself
with it. Nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it.
It is perversion. Lev 18:22-23 NKJV
13 If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them
have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death.
Their blood shall be upon them. 14 If a man marries a woman and her
mother, it is wickedness. They shall be burned with fire, both he and
they, that there may be no wickedness among you. 15 If a man mates
with an animal, he shall surely be put to death, and you shall kill
the animal. 16 If a woman approaches any animal and mates with it, you
shall kill the woman and the animal. They shall surely be put to
death. Their blood is upon them. Lev 20:12-17 NKJV
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of
their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, {25} who
exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the
creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. {26}
For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their
women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. {27}
Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in
their lust for one another, men with men committing what is
shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which
was due. (Romans 1:24-27 NKJV)
The holy characteristics of Christianity cannot be altered without
forming a new religion. What the Episcopalian church has done is form a
new religion, one that allows for homosexual leaders. It cannot be
Christianity any longer, but must be called by another term so that it
is distinguishable from Christianity. I can suggest a term, but it may
not be acceptable.
The fact is that American Christianity is apostatizing at an alarming
rate. A similar situation occurred in 2 Kings 17:24-41. The king of
Assyria placed captives form several nations in Samaria. These people
begin to practice their wickedness just as they had in their own
nations. God sent lions to devour them because of their evil ways. The
Assyrian king's answer to this problem was to send them Hebrew priest
that could teach them about God. The result was that "they feared
the LORD, yet served their own gods--according to the rituals of the
nations from among whom they were carried away" (2 Kings 17:33-34
NKJV).
I remember a statement made by John Dunphy and oft quoted by apostate
ministers who are trying to liberalize Christianity.
"The classroom must and will become an arena of conflict
between the old and the new - the rotting corpse of Christianity,
together with all it's abject evils and miseries, and the new faith of
humanism, resplendent in its promise of a world in which the
never-realized Christian ideal of 'love thy neighbor' will finally be
achieved." (Education writer John Dunphy in the Jan.-Feb. 1983
issue of Humanist Magazine in an article entitled "A Religion for
a New Age.")
The fact is, there will be a form of Christianity that will fit the
definition, "rotting corpse," but Paul described it almost two
thousand years ago in this manner.
(2 Timothy 3:1-9 NKJV) But know this, that in the last days
perilous times will come: {2} For men will be lovers of themselves,
lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents,
unthankful, unholy, {3} unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without
self-control, brutal, despisers of good, {4} traitors, headstrong,
haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, {5} having a form
of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn
away! {6} For of this sort are those who creep into households and
make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by
various lusts, {7} always learning and never able to come to the
knowledge of the truth. {8} Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses,
so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved
concerning the faith; {9} but they will progress no further, for their
folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.
