Cedric Fisher: "earnestly contending for the faith."

Christianity—United in Name Only (The Kim Davis Saga)

A large number of Christians are vehemently opposed to the decision of the Kentucky county clerk, Kim Davis.  They leave no room for amicable disagreement.   Her detractors declare that she should have just resigned.  A number of them on the Internet have launched angry diatribes against her, calling her names, a disgrace to Christianity, and bringing up her past before she became a Christian.  But here is an important point.  She wasn’t working at the Food Court at the Mall.  It was not simply a manner of dispensing goods and/or services.  She is in charge of issuing a historic American privilege that her state established by statutory and constitutional means cannot be extended to two people of the same sex.

Therefore, Christianity is divided with one large faction agreeing with the Liberal Progressives that have commandeered control of and are destroying our nation.  What is lost during this infighting is the fact that SCOTUS illegally established the law that Kim Davis refused to obey

What I find interesting is that homosexuals are completely united in their effort to force their agenda on the nation.  I have heard it said that the secular news media does not consult with each other before they all commit the same bias against Christians, Republicans, and conservatives in general.   They are united in airing reports favorable to liberals and liberal causes, and protecting their liberal heroes from unfavorable exposure.   In fact, all of the wicked factions devouring our nation’s freedom and fostering the spirit of hedonism, do not necessarily conspire with their fellows before they act.  The reason is they are all completely united under the same diabolical spirit, Satan.

There is no comparison in how professing Christians have handled this attack on their faith.  Not only do they fail to unite in a large enough number to make a difference, but many of them actually agree with the opposition.  They are not united under the Holy Spirit.  As a result, they are collectively a paper tiger with no power to change or prevent anything.  The diabolical powers presently in authority know this very well and are ecstatic.  I predict a major blow to Christian liberty will soon arrive as a direct result of this division.  Why should they pass up the opportunity?

If professing Christians say each time our faith is encroached on that we should back off, they are essentially agreeing with the liberal factions that foisted 6 ½ years of evil on our nation.  It means that they can circumvent the Constitution, and chase every Christian out of office with no significant challenge.  Should Christians acquiesce to wickedness until there are no Christians in government positions?  Will the same ones also agree when SCOTUS rules that homosexuality must be taught as a positive lifestyle in every classroom?  When it occurs (and it will), will they advocate all Christian teachers should comply resign?  Which side will they be on when SCOTUS rules that ministers must perform sodomite weddings?  We allowed SCOTUS to take prayer out of the public school system.  We allowed them to get away with making it legal to murder unborn babies (57 million and counting).  Lawsuits are being filed against Christian business owners with the purpose of forcing them to deny their faith or be destroyed financially.   My questions are as follows:  how much do we allow our Constitutional liberty to be oppressed?  When we have finally had enough, and decide to take action, will it be too late?

Looking down the logical road, I see a nation ruled completely by wicked people.  It will occur not because Christians are unfit for office, but because a significant number of Christians agreed with the illegal takeover.  The result will be Christians drummed into submission and forced to violate their faith or suffer harsh consequences.  That’s the consequence of many Christians kowtowing to evil factions, packing up their Bibles, and handing over their liberties.

As a result of this tragic division, I think the battle to take our nation back from diabolical and destructive people on November 8, 2016 is over.  When half the army joins the invading force, how can the battle be won?  With the bitter fighting between Christians on the Davis issue, the invading army may as well sit it out.  The people they intend to oppress with their power grab will do their job for them, build their own prisons, and forge their own chains.  At the finale of this conflict there may be a coronation of SCOTUS as the corporate dictator of our country.  In jest, I wonder if SCOTUS and the President are an antitype of the Ten Horns in Revelation 17:12-13.

My intent is to resist evil until Christ comes, or I am imprisoned or executed.  Everyone has to make their own choice about their response when spiritual wickedness in high places comes calling.  I would only encourage them to think about this one statement:  they do not call them martyrs because they compromised or complied.

Exactly. How sad! I was unaware of the number of professing believers on the opposing side, that is scandalous! I saw one article about her past, as if they didn’t have a past of their own! They clearly don’t understand the gospel then! Of course she is a martyr, the other circumstances don’t matter. She is in jail for not compromising the faith. Period. The days ahead will see a big divide between true and false Christians, just as during nazi Germany. That is what reveals what a person really is, their walk must follow their talk which must follow the Word of God. Most of the true ones were in concentration camps and executed, as will be the case again. I would be ashamed if I was not among them there, but I will be.

I appreciate the above commenter’s thoughts.

I just find myself wishing that professing Christian churches weren’t becoming such circuses, or that we weren’t living in such a confused, mixed-up, watered-down age, spiritually. Example being, one of the supporters was captured on camera sporting a bright red T-shirt that read, in LARGE WHITE letters: HEAVY DRINKER.

(“Great…” I thought. Then I saw, in small print, beneath those words, a tiny reference to some verse in the Gospel of John… oh please, not that). What kind of impression does this give to the unbelieving world? If I were this woman and saw that, I would be saying “No thanks–you’re NOT helping me.” And if I’m not mistaken, this was in a photo of supporters from her own church.

Well… I’m a little embarrassed for her church. She may be from a fine church and maybe this fellow is just confused or limited in his spiritual understanding. But…

The problem is, we’re living in an age of spiritual stupidity (bandwagon Christianity; watered-down corrupt gospel; zero discernment.) And I don’t say this lightly. I don’t say any of this lightly; it grieves me deeply… I hate to see the Lord so poorly represented. I’d be embarrassed and ashamed, for the Lord’s sake, to have someone represent me so (I don’t care how well-meaning). And it doesn’t help that the words, HEAVY DRINKER, were “supported” with a scripture reference drawn from the Bible. It’s a terrible witness to the Lord. Nothing approaching this sort of thing would ever have been the case in Nazi Germany in that day, as imperfect as it was (speaking of their churches). But we live in such irreverent times. And I’m speaking here of the current churches that operate in Jesus’ Name (shades of “For many shall come in My Name” – professing to be of Christ – “and shall deceive many”). Only in a grievously compromised American Church, conditioned to think and act like the unbelieving world around them, could the church so miserably present the Gospel to the watching world.

You know what? Maybe this guy launches into the Gospel with people who stop him on the street or in the store. I don’t know, and, if you’ll allow, I don’t care; it’s a nasty mixed-up brand of Christianity that runs with something like this and thinks it brings glory to God. And that, to me, is a problem.

Honestly? You know what I’d be saying if I were her? Don’t bother turning out in support of me with a twisted gospel like that. Please. Do us all a favor, and stay home. I would rather suffer alone than have that kind of support from the Christian community. Besides, as the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul says (of his being bound in prison for the sake of the Gospel), “but the Gospel is not bound.” Sweet words to any servant of His who should find themselves placed behind bars for the truth’s sake! Even in jail, the Gospel can prevail.

I support this woman’s decision to refuse the evil. And I expect the Lord to keep her company, while in jail. I don’t expect her to get her job back. And unless something radically changes, I don’t think she’ll want it. I think we’re at the tipping point of a major shift in the world in general, and it’s not in favor of Christ and his people. We really need to prepare ourselves for that, even while we support this woman’s stand. Listen, the night always grows darker before the dawn, so that means the dawn is coming! But first the darkness. And the Spirit in me tells me we are on the verge of nightfall. BUT AGAIN – we have the DAWN, the wonderful dawn! It will come with such joy that we will have no memory of the darkness. The Lord keeps His promises. And that is one glorious promise indeed!

These words leap to mind with a new sense of urgency: “Work, for the night is coming, when all work is through.” Let’s roll up our sleeves and do what we can before the night comes and there’s not more that can be done. God be magnified. ONE day, at the name of JESUS — EVERY knee shall bow. And for God’s people, there will be no more sorrow, no more crying — no more evil! Righteousness will be all that remains. Nothing but righteousness for God’s people. HALLELUJAH!

Ya. Her reinstatement got all of less-than-a-minute news-bite.

    No bias there, right?

Hey, Media! We get what you are doing. The blogs are so much better at real journalism. Besides, our wonderful Lord Jesus equips His saints with awesome spiritual weapons.

“For though we live in the world we are not carrying on a worldly war
for the weapons of our warfare are not worldly but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every proud obstacle to the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,”

I sure pray for the Lord to destroy the stronghold of sodomy in our land.

I think the key word in this article is “Professing” Christians. I’ve always believed, and more so today than ever before, that it’s easy to say I’m a Christian, but that’s the extent of who they are. Professors, Not Possessors! No walk, no testimony, no Spirit, no truth, no love of God or His children, no consciense, no backbone, no fight, no faith. I marvel at how even sincere born again believers believe the numbers published occasionally of how many Americans ‘claim’ to be Christians. I hear anywhere from 50 million to 200 million. I would guess it’s closer to 5 million or thereabout. This explains why the numbers of those against Kim Davis’s incarceration, who you would think would be unified in their view of what’s happening, has stirred so little outrage. Too busy watching Sports or other meaningless ‘entertainment’. Remember this. Either we get back wholeheartedly to the Holy scriptures and it’s author and live by it’s truths, live by them and for Him, or we will see dark and terrible days of retribution for our national sin. Judgment is approaching and one can hear the hoof beats of the four horsemen approaching. The professors will fall like a house of cards as it gets hotter and hotter. The true possessors will suffer and be scorned and assaulted publicly for their stand on Christ’s word. The Lord has said, I will never leave you or forsake you. We may very well see the reality of this great truth sooner than we may have expected.

YIKES! America and The Kingdom of God are two different things!!!
America is the world. Americans need to hear The Gospel. Christians share The Gospel with sinners who need The Grace of God to bring them to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.

How is Kim Davis refusing to issue marriage licenses to non-born again, Americans sharing The Gospel? How is it being an ambassador for Jesus Christ?

When did the mission of The Church become standing for morality among non-believers rather than calling them to believe on The Lord Jesus Christ and be saved?
…… apostacy wears lots of different clothes 🙁

“When did the mission of The Church become standing for morality among non-believers rather than calling them to believe on The Lord Jesus Christ and be saved?”
When Christians do not stand for morality, their message is worthless. Evidence is in the fact that Christianity is rife with immorality, capitulation to heresy, and general hypocrisy. The world system despises it. Further, professing Christians are abandoning Christianity by the drives, a large number of churches are closing monthly, and ministers leaving the ministry. One can call on the lost to be saved all one desires, but a message without a moral backbone is powerless. I know that for a fact from much personal experience. that said, the ones who oppose Kim Davis’ decision are duty bound to present an effective alternative by example.

Additionally, the kingdom of God is in every nation where there are true Christians. America is a nation that has been torn from its Christian roots and influence and is being rapidly “hedonized” by antichrist factions. The fact that according to prophesy they will win the war does not mean we should lay down and allow it to occur. Weak and pusillanimous Christians who self-righteously refrain from speaking out against evil in a society is exactly why Hitler and other despots were able to accomplish their atrocities. With all due respect, I’d rather be counted among the ones who protested than the ones who kowtowed.
