The Oregon Persecution: An Emerging Paradigm for Persecuting Christians

Everyone is talking and writing about the SCOTUS ruling.  However, the greater danger few people are talking and writing about, and that has been obscured by the SCOTUS ruling, is the Oregon persecution against the bakers, Aaron and Melissa Klein.  The Kleins were not charged and prosecuted in a traditional court of law.  There was no due process, no jury of their peers, and their Constitutional rights were violated, including the First Amendment regarding freedom of religion.  It amounts to Christian persecution not unlike what is occurring in some foreign nations.

The Labor Commissioner, Brad Avakian, convened a court, acted as judge, jury, and executioner.  Additionally, it is reported that Avakian has a gay son and is a LGBT supporter.  He should have recused himself on those points.  It is doubtful that he would have won a case against the Kleins in a genuine court of law.

Every citizen has the right to due process of law.  Avakian’s court ignored that right. The Fifth Amendment says that no one shall be “deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law.”  The same words are used in the Fourteenth Amendment to describe the obligation of all the states.  That means that Avakian should have taken his case to a proper court where the proper procedures, including the rules of the justice and evidence, were followed.  Instead, he chose to violate the Kleins’ Constitutional rights, and is attempting to force them to pay the settlement immediately, even though he most certainly knows that his actions will be overturned by the first genuine court that it is presented in.  The Kleins will never get their money back.

Nevertheless, Avakian awarded $135,000 to the gay couple allegedly damaged by the Klein’s refusal to make them a gay oriented wedding cake.  The list of symptoms of the gay couple’s damage include, “acute loss of confidence,” “doubt,” “excessive sleep,” “felt mentally raped, dirty and shameful,” “high blood pressure,” “impaired digestion,” “loss of appetite,” “migraine headaches,” “pale and sick at home after work,” “resumption of smoking habit,” “shock,” “stunned,” “surprise,” “uncertainty,” “weight gain” and “worry.”  There were no expert witnesses allowed to sustain or refute those damages.

Avakian’s stated goal is to “rehabilitate Christians” to accept homosexuality and homosexual marriage.

“The goal is never to shut down a business. The goal is to rehabilitate,” Avakian said. “For those who do violate the law, we want them to learn from that experience and have a good, successful business in Oregon.”

That sounds like the double-speak that Communists use to mask their persecution of citizens who refuse to comply with their agenda.  Hopefully he will learn when the court overturns his injustice.

Not satisfied with his imperialistic justice, Avakian issued a gag order after the judgment, which is highly irregular and a violation of the First Amendment.

“The Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor and Industries hereby orders [Aaron and Melissa Klein] to cease and desist from publishing, circulating, issuing or displaying, or causing to be published … any communication to the effect that any of the accommodations … will be refused, withheld from or denied to, or that any discrimination be made against, any person on account of their sexual orientation,” (Brad Avakian).

There is little outrage from the Christian community, and few are writing about and discussing it.  If this is allowed to stand, it will have far greater impact on Christians than the SCOTUS ruling.  If we do not stand now, the time is rapidly approaching when it will be fruitless to stand.  “Kangaroo courts” will convene across the nation charging and convicting Christians of numerous trumped up charges.  This is the emerging of a tool for very harsh Christian persecution.  It has already been used successfully.  One man, Brad Avakian, is forcing Christians in Oregon to deny their faith or be wiped out financially.

Avakian is a rogue politician abusing his office and power.  He should be held accountable and recalled.  Emboldened by his actions, many in the homosexual community will come after Christians.  That we can count on.  Are you scared yet?  Are you ready to keep your mouth shut in meek compliance?  If not, where is the outrage?

To that symptom list of the two lesbians will soon be added “intense sweating,” “burning sensation” “feeling of condemnation” and “eternal damnation” along with a request for new glasses because when they read the sign of their destination; instead of “hello,” it read “hell.”
But the good news is that there is rehabilitation for the likes of them, and those defending them. It is called repentance, and acceptance of the gospel of salvation found in the bible! ( 0.00 K)

On another note, it will only get worse. These are the last days of liberty. All the blogs almost are registering the same thing and I feel it in my spirit as well. The winds and tides are turning and another holocaust is on the way. They already have all the props ready to roll out. People will be very blindsighted. Most are asleep watching entertainment, sports, etc. Most professing Christians will be so unprepared and shocked that they won’t be ready to remain loyal unto the end and will make the wrong choices. The normal reaction is always, “but, they can’t do that… because it’s the ________ amendment, it’s our ____ right, and freedom of ________. The constitution says ________, therefore they can’t.” But, it has already been done. And, it will only get worse. Just as in the days of the caesars, the hitlers, etc. No one had these rights and liberties secured in the law of the land to fall back on, or they were only on paper. On a large scale, that is what is just around the corner.

Thanks for shedding light on this situation. After reading a bit more about it, looks like they are getting some good support now from Christians both moral and financial. Hopefully it will be enough to turn the tide for them.

I would like to point out something that may seem unrelated to this story but I feel it has contributed greatly to these types of cases. That is the conditioning of the public that has occurred with the enactment of the so called Patriot Act. No piece of legislation in history has gone farther to trounce our constitutional rights or at least make them conditional. And, we the people accepted it with fear in our hearts after 911. I’m sure we are familiar with Franklin’s words, “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety” I believe we are reaping the fruit of this now!

A simple google search will render tons of information on how this act has been misused repeatedly to “protect” us. I believe the conditioning side of it has helped to quell outrage over stories like the one on Oregon. More and more, we have been willing to look the other way and give up our constitutional rights if it meant safety for us or a chance to catch the “boogie man” This sadly has turned into abuses in other areas driven by nothing more than political correctness gone mad. Where is freedom of speech in the SC flag issue? Just another example of how legislation written to take full advantage of our fear now uses fear and persecution to further it’s cause.
