School Replaces Detention with Meditation/Yoga

Baltimore’s Robert W. Coleman Elementary School is taking advantage of unknowledgeable or inattentive parents, to instruct vulnerable children in the practice meditation and Yoga.   Instead of sending unruly children to detention, they are sending them to the “Mindful Room”. There they are taught breathing exercises, meditation, and Yoga.

“Misbehaving kids are encouraged to sit in the room and go through practices like breathing or meditation, helping them calm down and re-center.” – This school replaced detention with meditation. The results are stunning, James Gaines, 9/22/2016, Upworthy (online)

What I find stunning is the fact Christians have not risen up in protest, exposed this diabolical preying on their children, and demanded the school remove the program. The program, entitled Holistic Me, was established in partnership with the Holistic Life Foundation. According to the Foundation’s website, which pictures two children in meditating in yoga position, claims to “serve” 4500 students weekly. One has to wonder if some children might create a disturbance just to get into the program. Holistic Me is active in over 14 schools including at least one Christian school, Friends School of Baltimore. They claim that no school suspensions were issued to students who attend their program. According to the Baltimore school spokesperson, none of their participating students were suspended last year. They are crediting the program with reduction in fighting and other behavioral issues. The Agony of Defeat

Well, the first debate is over. I watched video clips and read the reports, but confess I did not watch the full debate. I would have an easier time watching two ordained homosexual ministers debating the pros and cons of transgender restrooms.

The consensus of the pundits is that Trump won by simply walking on the stage. He is legitimized in the public view as a viable presidential candidate. He also won in the fact that although Clinton has 30 years of political experience, she did not cause any significant damage to him. Further, Trump won because he did not make any serious mistakes. Finally, he won in in personal appearance. He was—as he has been throughout his campaign—what America expected to see. However, she appeared smug, cold, and calculating—not pleasant. Her appearance adds fuel to the public perception that she is a cold-blooded, dirty politician that cannot be trusted. There was no CNN to doctor her appearance or edit her words.

So what’s the result of this exercise in “lesser” evil debating “greater”? I think it will be that “lesser” appears more “lesser” and “greater” appears more “greater”. I do not believe that Clinton will get a bump in the polls, but the opposite. There may be a slight bump for Trump, no poetry intended. Continue reading

Brother Can You Spare the Time? (part two)

I did not intend to write another section to the first article. However, the first part was met with a stony silence. What was I thinking? I came against the primary addiction of professing Christians just when the football season began in earnest. Sports is an indulgence that one had better not oppose if one wishes to avoid the right foot of dis-fellowship. American Christianity has embraced it as a sanctified privilege. Is that okay with God? Or are Christians simply singing a modified version of, “I surrender all”?

I ought to apologize, remove the first article, and go back to redundantly describing how heretics are destroying Christianity. But why are they destroying? Why are they invading so easily? Why is there a massive power outage in Christianity? Why has truth become so trampled and despised?   Did the fire that filled men’s bones, that purified their hearts, that grew overcoming faith in them, fueled mighty revivals, birthed great Movements, come from a table prepared for the flesh or an altar prepared by God?

Obviously, there is a massive power drain somewhere. It is not difficult to discover the leak. In my opinion the drainage is at the table of sports where Believers and unbelievers join their spirits and emotions. Both factions are controlled by the same source/activity, provoked by the same stimuli, and fulfill the same desires. The ritual is designed and controlled by the god of this world. Continue reading
