Brother, Can You Spare the Time?

One positive thing about the ACC moving championship games out of North Carolina, the NBA moving their All-Star game our of the state, and the obscure quarterback and other NFL players refusing to stand for the National Anthem, is that many Christians are taking a hiatus from watching those games/sports. Really? Well hooray! What will they do with the spare time? I’ve a suggestion. It may raise hackles and set off the “preachy” alarm, but here goes. First, a bit of groundwork is necessary.

Many Christians agree that our nation is in critically bad condition. They agree that we appear to be on the verge of losing our democracy. I believe that we are, and will remain until the end of history, one major election cycle from serious hardships for Christians and political conservatives. Continue reading

Let My Will Be Lost in Thine

“Let the righteous strike me; It shall be a kindness. And let him rebuke me; It shall be as excellent oil; Let my head not refuse it. For still my prayer is against the deeds of the wicked.” – Psalms 141”5

What happened to Christianity? A short answer is that for the most part it has ceased to be the church, the Body of Christ. In particular, professing Christians ceased to be possessing Christians. Life became all about them, and not about God. More disastrous, conviction is practically non-existent. Further, it is plagued by the consequences of living in the shadows and mitigated by numerous hirelings and heretics. Their main purpose is to pander to individuals who believe that God is a supernatural genie that grants an endless supply of wishes. Few people will suffer any inconveniences to discover how to obey God’s will, much less obey it. Fewer still will enter the fellowship of Christ’s sufferings.

Remember the old song, “Jesus use me, and oh Lord don’t refuse me. Surely there’s a work that I can do. And even though it’s humble, Lord help my will to crumble. Though the cross be great I’ll work for You.”? There are few songs with that message today. Continue reading

Deception’s Great and Final Harvest

I write and speak a lot about deception. The reason is that deception is Satan’s primary method of defeating and trapping professing Christians. Further, God’s word makes it clear that deception will be exceptionally powerful and alluring in these last days (Matthew 24:24).

It is obvious that most professing Christians have not realized or accepted how very difficult it will be to survive end times deception. How difficult? It will be the greatest difficulty most people have ever encountered. It is like an astounding magic show and demonic multilevel marketing scheme combined. It is becoming the fad of fads, the trick of tricks, the con of cons, sin of sins, and the deception of deceptions by the god of this world in his final attempt to usurp the throne of the King of kings and Lord of lords. Are you ready? Continue reading
